What do I do?
There are a few different titles for what I do. I prefer to describe myself as a Certified Financial Planner. What does that really mean though?? Ultimately my role is help you reach your financial goals. This is done by working with you to define what's important, determining the best course of action to move you closer to your goals and keeping you on the path to achieve them.
No client is the same and I pride myself on being able to adapt and cater to clients' unique situations.
How am I qualified?
Your financial security is important to me as a client. So, what makes me qualified to advise on important financial matters for you and your family? I've been helping clients achieve their financial goals for over 15 years now. Rather than focusing on products, I take my clients through a planning process with a goals-based approach. I believe this is lacking in most advisor-client relationships today, where investments are really the only matter discussed.
What's my approach on fees?
Canadians typically don't understand what they're paying in their client-advisor relationship. This is primarily due to the lack of transparency in wealth management products and often is not addressed most effectively with advisors. In my practice, I aim to ensure fees are clear to clients from the beginning. Fees for investments (managed by private investment councils) and financial planning are outlined separately so it's easier to understand what you're paying overall. Your bottom-line cost is typically less expensive than what you pay when working with bank branches as well as other financial advisors, especially those in the mutual fund industry.
Getting the service you deserve, with the advice you need, at an understandable and fair price is my commitment to you.
